The World Association of Lesson Studi International Conference, yang diselenggarakan oleh Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia akan berlangsung dari 25 November ke 28 November 2014 di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia di Bandung, Indonesia. About ICIEC

BACKGROUND

Nowadays, the progress of science and technology has been at a very high level and contributing significantly to human civilization. However, the role of the West as a locomotive and icon of capitalism, has led to negative elements that affect a human dimension, and cause the clash of civilizations and global crisis. Thus, emerged a new paradigm among scholars and statesmen to redefine a rationality of life based on divine values and humanity by highlighting the concept of Islamic economics. Islamic economics has been having a revival over the last few decades. However, it is still in a preliminary stage of development, whereas in contrast with this, conventional economics has become a well-developed and sophisticated discipline after going through a long and rigorous process of development over more than a century.

It means these efforts are still not giving the true meaning of life to the world communities. Therefore, this conference will be organized to bring scholars, statesmen, and practitioners to discuss and analyze issues related to Islamic economics and civilization. Hopefully, resolution and action plans resulting from this conference will contribute both nationally and internationally.

PROSPECTIVE PARTICIPANTS

ICIEC’14 is intended for researcher and academicians who are interested in enhancing knowledge and ideas in Islamic economics and Islamic civilization. ICIEC’14 is also useful for professionals, postgraduate students, government officers, and Islamic institution practitioners.

All participants should be registered to enter in the conference and pay the registration fee based on the type of participant. There are three participant categories: Reguler Participant, Presenter, and Student, either as the international participant or domestic / national. Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Nuh, DEA

He is Indonesian Minister of education and culture. Graduated from the Electrical Engineering Department of ITS Surabaya, he was once of the director of the Polytechnic ITS and then rector of ITS. He was appointed as a professor in the field of control system. Prof. Muhammad Nuh also served as Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI) in East Java.

Dr. Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad

He is the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Dr. Muliaman earned the Master of Public Administration from John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA and Doctor of Philosophy from Faculty of Business and Economics, Monash University, Australia. He was also the youngest Deputy of Governor Indonesia Central Bank. His specialization is in banking system, strategic planning, and organization transformation program.

Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Paduka Dr. Mahmood Zuhdi b. Hj. Abd. Majid

He is currently a Professor Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Human Science at the International Islamic University (IIUM). He holds a number of Syariah-related degrees from Malaysia and abroad: the Bachelor of Syariah from Nilam Puri, the Master of Syariah from the Al-Azhar University, the Master of Philosophy from the University of Kent and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Malaya. His areas of expertise are threefold: History of Islamic Law, the Principles of Islamic Jurispru-dence, and the Administration of Islamic Criminal Law.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Syukri Salleh

He is currently as Professor of Development Planning and Management. Prof. Syukri is also the Director of the Centre for Islamic Development Management Studies (ISDEV), School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia. Prof. Syukri earned his Master of Arts (M.A.) in Rural Development from University of East Anglia, UK. Meanwhile his Philosophy of Doctor (Ph.D.) in Islamic-based Development is earned from University of Oxford, UK.

KH. Dr. (Hc.) Ir. Sholahuddin Wahid

KH. Sholahuddin Wahid (Gus Sholah) is the rector of University of Hasyim Asy’ari, Jombang, Indonesia. He is one of the figure of NU that has long been known as a highly idealistic and committed to advancing NU ahead. Figure who is now believed to be the Chairman of Tebuireng Boarding School (Pondok Pesantren) in Jombang is one of the leaders of human rights in Indonesia. He is the younger brother of former President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur).

He is currently as a Dean, Faculty of Islamic Civilization, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Prof. Hussin earned his Master of Arts in Islamic Studies from Universitas Islam Antar Bangsa (UIA) Malaysia and his Ph.D. in Islamic Economics from University of Wales, UK.

Dr. Miftahurrohim Syarkun

He is a senior lecturer of Faculty of Islamic Civilization – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Dr. Miftah earned his Ph.D in the Islamic Law Method / Ushul Fiqh from University of Malaya, Master of Arts in Shariah from University Kebangsaan Malaysia, B.A. (Akhwal Al-Shariah) from University of Hasyim Asy’ari (UNHASY), Jombang, Indonesia.

Dr. Muhammad Syafi’i Antonio, M.Ec.

He is the icon of Islamic banking and finance in Indonesia. Dr. Syafi’i Antonio is the chairman of Tazkia University College of Islamic Economics (STEI TAZKIA). He earned his Ph.D. in Micro Finance from University of Melbourne (2004), Master of Economics from International Islamic University, Malaysia (1992), and completed his first degree in Islamic Law from University of Jordan (1990). He also conducted a visiting research program at Al-Azhar University Cairo and Oxford University, UK.

Prof. Dr. Suroso Imam Zadjuli

He is a professor of Islamic Economics and also known as founding father of Islamic Economics in Airlangga University. He was Dean of Economis Faculty, Airlangga University. He was also the first Chairman of Islamic Economics Doctoral Program at Airlangga University.

Call for Paper: Eleventh ASEFUAN Academic Conference and Annual General Meeting, Manila, The Philippines,

31 July – 2 August 2012

The 11th ASEFUAN Annual Conference and General Meeting will be held at the Ateneo de Manila University, Manila, Philippines on 31 July-2 August 2011 with the theme Conflict Transformation and Peaceful Settlement of Disputes in Asia and Europe. For the programme (PDF, 220KB), ASEFUAN members and select non-ASEFUAN participants working or studying in the field of peace will be tackling issues of security and geopolitics, religion, minority rights, international and community-based peace-building, new media activism, alternative dispute resolution, sustainable development, and arts for conflict transformation. A workshop will also be conducted to develop skills for conflict resolution for young leaders.

There will also be a Call for Papers, which will seek out the most outstanding intellectual work on the topic from around the Philippines and the two regions. The best papers will be presented during the conference and will be included in the publication which will be released after the conference.

This event is being co-organised with the Ateneo de Manila University European Studies Programme, Ateneo’s Association of European Studies Students (AEUSS), Institute for Strategic and Development Studies, Conflict Resolution Group Foundation, Inc., and the Ateneo Human Rights Center.

It will feature some of the most prominent figures from Asia and Europe who are known as agents of peace.

Call for papers

Throughout history, regions, nations and peoples have been beleaguered by conflicts, with many still enduring persisting tensions and disputes that hamper progress and ultimately, the achievement of lasting peace. Stirred by a desire to create an avenue for thoughtful reflection on the sporadic but pervasive presence of conflict in different parts of the world, this event aims to foster interdisciplinary discussions on conflict prevention, resolution and peace-building.

To this end, we invite post-graduate students, academics and young professionals to submit papers on the theme of the Academic Conference, with particular focus on any of the following subtopics:

• Contemporary Peace and Security Issues in Asia and Europe
• Religion and Peace
• Minority Rights and Peace-Building
• The Role of the International Community in Peace-building
• Innovative Methods Towards Peaceful Change
• The Responsibility to Protect
• Non-Traditional Security Issues in Asia and Europe

This invitation for paper submissions is open to the public. Co-authored papers are allowed, but previously published works will not be considered.

Interested parties may send their paper abstracts (approximately 300 words), along with a copy of their Curriculum Vitae, to agm2012@asefuan.org not later than 27 April 2012. The authors of the abstracts accepted for the Academic Conference will be notified before 15 May 2012. The full draft paper should be submitted by 29 June 2012. All selected papers will be published online in the conference website and will be included in the post-conference publication to be released after August. Since the Academic Conference already has a complete roster of speakers for the panel discussions, only a limited number of papers will be chosen for presentation.

Biopsikologi berpeluang untuk menyumbang peran penting dalam kehidupan. Sebagai salah satu perspektif keilmuan dalam khasanah ilmu Psikologi, ia mencoba menjawab suatu fenomena psikologis dengan pemahaman fisiologis. Biopsikologi merupakan bagian dari neuroscience, ilmu yang mendalami hal-ihwal otak dan sistem syaraf. Berbagai penelitian membuktikan, aplikasi praktis biopsikologi dalam berbagai bidang terapan psikologi dapat meningkatkan optimalisasi potensi manusia dan meningkatkan kualitas kehidupannya.
Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Gadjah Mada telah menyelenggarakan Konferenesi Nasional yang pertama pada 27 Januari 2009 dengan sukses. Oleh karena itu Fakultas Psikologi UGM menetapkan tradisi ini secara berkelanjutan secara periodik dan akan menyelenggarakan Konferensi Nasional Biopsikologi II pada 14 Maret 2011.

Tujuan Konferensi
1. Menjadi forum pertukaran informasi antara akademisi dan praktisi tentang perkembangan biopsikologi selama kurun waktu dua tahun sejak 2009
2. Meneguhkan semangat kolaborasi dan sinergi penelitian antar bidang Neuroscinece

Konferensi Riset Mahasiswa Nasional 2011

Tema “TECHNOPRENEUR : SOLUSI UNTUK KEMANDIRIAN BANGSA“.

Tempat:
Acara konferensi ini akan diadakan di kampus IT Telkom Bandung.

Waktu:
Acara konfrensi ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21-23 Februari 2011. Adapun tahap-tahap acara adalah sebagai berikut :
1. Seminar
Seminar dilaksanakan pada hari kedua, yaitu tanggal 21 Februari 2011. Seminar tersebut terbagi menjadi dua sesi. Sesi pertama diadakan oleh pihak BTP (Bandung Techno Park) kampus IT-Telkom, berupa open mind mengenai paradigma dunia riset mahasiswa. Dan sesi kedua dibawakan oleh penggagas sekaligus pemilik forum KASKUS. Peserta seminar merupakan peserta konfrensi dan peserta umum (non-konfrensi).
2. FGD (Focus Group Discussion)
FGD merupakan tahap pre-konferensi, dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21 Februari 2011. Pada tahap FGD, seluruh peserta konferensi berkumpul dan dibagi berkelompok berdasarkan klasifikasi materi makalah peserta. Seluruh peserta tiap kelompok FGD mendiskusikan makalah masing-masing untuk mencapai titik temu sebagai kesepakatan bersama, sehingga satu kelompok FGD memiliki satu pemikiran. Setiap kelompok FGD akan mempresentasikan pemikirannya pada kelompok-kelompok lain ketika acara konfrensi.
3. Konferensi
Konferensi dilaksanakan pada tanggal 22-23 Februari 2011. Setiap kelompok yang telah dibagi pada tahap FGD mempresentasikan hasil pemikiran kelompok tersebut. Presentasi dilanjutkan dengan sesi tanya-jawab maupun saran-kritik oleh kelompok lain dan pihak pembicara. Sesi ini dilaksanakan bergiliran sehingga semua kelompok selesai presentasi. Kemudian akan ditentukan mana yang merupakan ide/pemikiran terbaik .

Metode Pendaftarannya:
Calon peserta wajib membuat makalah, satu makalah pertim. Satu tim terdiri dari dari 3 (tiga) orang Peserta mengumpulkan makalah sesuai materi yang ditentukan oleh panitia. Makalah merupakan ide/pemikiran mahasiswa. Isi makalah akan dipresentasikan pada acara konferensi dan akan ditanggapi oleh peserta dan pihak pembicara.

Background:
Global economic and political conditions are facing enormous change recently. The world's constellation has shifted, with a few Asian countries playing more important roles, as indicated by the growth of China, the emerging giant India, and the resilience of Indonesia, following the success of Korea and Japan since 1990s. However, no single Asian country can relax in this situation, because of political instability in many Asian countries.

Consequently, public administration in every country plays an important role in enhancing public trust. Innovations have been made to improve the lives of citizens. Good governance has become fashionable in many countries. However, few countries succeeded in implementing it. Administrative reform, which is an important aspect of good governance, has to be adjusted to each country's context.

Meanwhile, the wave of decentralization which begun in 1980s has not stopped. Central government in many Asian countries have handed over their authority to local governments to improve governance or to encourage local democracy. Many countries have succeeded, but many have failed too. The bureaucracies in some countries have become corrupt institutions.

Conference Theme and Sub-Theme:

The aim of the conference is to discuss the recent trends in public administration and possible future scenarios in the emerging Asian countries.
